You're Invited
Whether you have a garden, an allotment, a raised bed or just a few pots on a patio, this is the day that will give you the confidence and skills to grow more of your own food.
Join us at Manor Farm for a hands-on learning with the Hampshire Market Garden team. We grow vegetables professionally on a regenerative, organic market garden, and on this day we are opening up everything we know to a small group of passionate growers.
This is not a lecture. It is a proper day on the farm, outdoors and in the soil, with time to ask questions, get your hands dirty and leave with real practical knowledge you can use straight away. We will have a sit down planning session, tour of the market garden, and then work practically together.
£50 per adult (including vat and fees)
£35 for under 18's (must be accompanied by an adult)
Wednesday 29th April | 10.30am to 2.30pm | 15 Spaces Only
Hampshire Market Garden, Manor Farm,
East Tytherley, SP5 1LE.

Absolutely. You don't need any experience to get the most out of the day. The sessions are designed to be genuinely useful at every level, and the small group size means Chris and the team can tailor conversations to where you actually are.
Dress for being outdoors and expect to get muddy. Layers are always a good idea in March, and waterproofs are worth throwing in the car just in case. We'll provide all the tools and materials you need on the day. Just bring a notebook if you want one, and plenty of questions. We will have tools on the day but if you want to bring your own trusty tools, then feel free. Again we have plenty of gloves for guests but if you prefer to bring them along then please do.
We will be planning your growing space so an idea of the size of space you are looking at or even just some photos on your phone can be good for inspiration.
A hands-on sessions with the Hampshire Market Garden team, a guided tour of the market garden, and lunch. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day.
Yes, just drop us an email at [email protected] when you book and we'll make sure you're well looked after.
The workshop takes place at Manor Farm, East Tytherley, SP5 1LE. There is free parking on site. Follow signs for The Veg Shed. https://share.google/tNkeKKkmWBhWPisig
This is a workshop and hands-on day, not an all day lecture. You'll be outside on the farm practically with the team, getting into conversations, handling materials, and learning by doing as well as the theory. There will also be time for open discussion and questions throughout.
Yes, we recommend booking online in advance. Numbers are limited and we want to make sure you don't miss out.
We want persons of all ages to learn about composting and soil health, however just to let you know this is a full day course with theory and practical covered. Any under 18's are welcome with an accompanying adult, however you will be responsible for those who are not adults that come along with you.
This is a farm in Hampshire in April, so we plan for all weathers. The day is designed to be outdoors and we'll be out in it, so come prepared. We have covered and indoor spaces available if we need them.
If you need to cancel more than 14 days before the event we'll offer a full refund. Inside 14 days we're unable to offer a refund, but you're welcome to transfer your place to someone else. Just let us know at [email protected]. We may also be able to transfer the cost of your ticket as credit to another event.
