Saturday 28th March, 10am to 4pm | East Tytherley, Hampshire | 15 spaces only

Whether you have a garden, an allotment, a raised bed or just a few pots on a patio, this is the day that will give you the confidence and skills to grow more of your own food.
Join us at Manor Farm for a full day of hands-on learning with the Hampshire Market Garden team. We grow vegetables professionally on a regenerative, organic market garden, and on this day we are opening up everything we know to a small group of passionate growers.
This is not a lecture. It is a proper day on the farm, outdoors and in the soil, with time to ask questions, get your hands dirty and leave with real practical knowledge you can use straight away. We will have a sit down planning session, tour of the market garden, and then work practically together.
£80 per adult (including vat and fees)
£60 for under 18's (must be accompanied by an adult)
The day begins with a welcome drink and a chance to meet your fellow growers before Chris Huskins and the Hampshire Market Garden team take you on a guided tour of the market garden.
From there the day unfolds naturally through a series of hands-on sessions and open discussions covering soil health, planning your growing space, seed sowing, making beds and a range of other practical skills drawn straight from our day to day work on the farm.
Lunch is included midway through, giving everyone a chance to sit together, share ideas and ask questions in a relaxed setting. By the time 4pm comes around you will leave with your head full of practical knowledge and your hands having done the work to back it up.
There is only so much you can learn about growing food from a book or a screen. The real understanding comes when you are outside, in the soil, with someone who does this every single day standing next to you. That is exactly what this day is. You will be out on a working organic market garden in Hampshire, getting hands on with the same beds, tools and techniques we use to grow food for hundreds of local families every week.
Chris and the team will be with you throughout, answering your questions honestly and sharing the kind of practical knowledge that only comes from years of actually doing it. Whatever your experience level, you will leave feeling genuinely ready to grow.

Tickets are £80 per person (including vat, no hidden fees). To keep the day intimate and genuinely useful, we are deliberately keeping numbers small. Once these spaces are gone, they are gone.
If you have any dietary requirements please drop us an email at [email protected] when you book and we will make sure you are well looked after.

To keep the day intimate and genuinely useful, we are deliberately keeping numbers small. Once these spaces are gone, they are gone.
Throughout the day we will cover:
Planning your growing space for the season ahead
Soil health and composting
Seed sowing and germination
Bed preparation and planting
Pests & Diseases: how to deal with them naturally
How we grow with nature, and without chemicals or fertilisers
Absolutely. You don't need any growing experience to get the most out of the day. Whether you've never touched a spade or you've been growing for years, the sessions are designed to be genuinely useful at every level. The small group size means Chris and the team can tailor conversations to where you actually are.
Dress for being outdoors and expect to get muddy. Layers are always a good idea in March, and waterproofs are worth throwing in the car just in case. We'll provide all the tools and materials you need on the day. Just bring a notebook if you want one, and plenty of questions. We will have tools on the day but if you want to bring your own trusty tools, then feel free. Again we have plenty of gloves for guests but if you prefer to bring them along then please do.
We will be planning your growing space so an idea of the size of space you are looking at or even just some photos on your phone can be good for inspiration.
A full day of hands-on sessions with the Hampshire Market Garden team, a guided tour of the market garden, and lunch. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day.
Yes, just drop us an email at [email protected] when you book and we'll make sure you're looked after.
The workshop takes place at Manor Farm, East Tytherley, SP5 1LE. There is free parking on site.

This is a farm in Hampshire in March, so we plan for all weathers. The day is designed to be outdoors and we'll be out in it, so come prepared. We have covered and indoor spaces available if we need them, and we've never yet let a bit of drizzle get in the way of a good day's growing.
If you need to cancel more than 14 days before the event we'll offer a full refund. Inside 14 days we're unable to offer a refund, but you're welcome to transfer your place to someone else. Just let us know at [email protected]. We may also be able to transfer the cost of your ticket as credit to another event.
