Come and see what we're building together.

On Saturday 23rd May we're opening the gates at our East Tytherley site and inviting the local community in. This is your farm.

You're the reason we do this, and on this day we want to show you around, hear what you think, and ask for your support as we plan the next chapter for Hampshire Market Garden.

Whether you're a long-standing veg box customer, a local resident who's always been curious, or someone who simply cares about good food and community, we'd love to see you here.

On The Day

Arrive any time from 10am. The Veg Shed will be open throughout the morning, with refreshments and goodies available, so come and settle in before exploring the farm.

Members of the team will be on hand to show you around, answer your questions, and talk about how we grow food for local families here in Hampshire.

At 11.30am Chris and the team will lead a guided tour of the market garden, walking you through the beds and sharing what's growing in May and what the season ahead looks like.

What We're Working Towards

Hampshire Market Garden has always been about more than vegetables. It's about rebuilding the connection between people and the land that feeds them, and creating something that genuinely belongs to this community.

We have big plans for our market garden at Manor Farm, and we want you to be part of shaping them.

We're working towards a more permanent onsite community farm shop, a proper home for local food that's open more of the year and stocked not just with our own produce but with the products of other Hampshire farmers and growers, brought directly to you with no middleman in between.

Alongside that, we want to create a covered space where people can sit, have a cup of tea or coffee, share a slice of cake, and connect with each other and with the farm. A place that's warm and welcoming whatever the season, that belongs to the village and the wider community as much as it belongs to us.

A space for the community to meet, to gather, to learn, and to feel genuinely rooted in where you live.

This is what we're building. And the more voices we have behind us, the better placed we are to make it happen.

We Need Your Voice

We're at an exciting and important point in HMG's story and we're seeking support from the community we serve to help shape what comes next.

On the day we'll be asking visitors if they would:

Fill in a short survey sharing your thoughts on local food, community facilities, and what matters most to you.

Sign a support letter backing Hampshire Market Garden's work in the local area.

Add your voice to our community noticeboard, telling us what you'd love to see from the farm and its facilities going forward.

Every response helps us make the case for continued investment in this place, for the benefit of everyone who lives here.

Dogs welcome on a lead.

What You'll See

May is one of the most rewarding months on the market garden. The beds are full, the season is in full swing, and there's real energy on the farm. The chickens will be out and you can wave at the donkeys!

Come and see where your food comes from, meet the people who grow it, and leave knowing a little more about what regenerative organic farming actually looks like in practice.

Who Is It For?

Everyone. Families, local residents, existing customers, neighbours, people who've never heard of us and people who've been with us from the start.

If you live in or around East Tytherley, Lockerley, or the surrounding villages and towns, this day is for you.

Dogs welcome on a lead.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Can I park on site?

Yes there is plenty of free parking on site. Follow the signs for The Veg Shed and someone will be on site to guide you where to park.

What Should I Wear?

We recommend outdoor clothing and solid footwear if you have it, we will be walking across the market garden fields with uneven ground and open to the elements.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, we recommend booking online in advance. Numbers are limited and we want to make sure you don't miss out. Similarly if you can no longer make it, please do let us know ahead of time.

Does the tour cost?

No, there are no hidden costs. A free event.

The Veg Shed will be open for refreshments and goodies which are not included. Otherwise it is completely free to come along.

Is it suitable for children?

Absolutely. This is a great day out for families and children of all ages are welcome. Just dress them for being outdoors and expect muddy boots. This is a working farm so it is your responsibility to keep your children with you and safe during your visit.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, well behaved dogs on a lead are very welcome. (There are livestock on the bigger farm we are a part of and therefore leads must be used).

What refreshments are available?

Refreshments will be available to buy on site from The Veg Shed.

What if the weather is bad?

We'll be out on the farm whatever the weather, so come prepared. May in Hampshire can be glorious, but layers and a waterproof in the bag never hurt. If the skies open there will be space for us to have refreshments in a covered space.

I have more questions. How do I get in touch?
